The German people (original spelling in capital letters ) is the 16-meter-wide inscription on the architrave above the west portal of the Reichstag building in Berlin. The 60-centimeter-high, made of melted guns letters in a specially designed writing by Peter Behrens were attached to disputes about the content of the building idleness in 1916.
